People who successfully complete this course receive a ‘short course certificate of attendance’. This is not a license.
The course is a shortened version of the complete grading course without the practical sessions and written exam. Attendees will acquire basic knowledge of the rules, identify characteristics and learn how to measure lumber.
The course structure and length is based on the number of grading rule paragraphs studied as outlined in the description of the complete grading course.
A small amount of lumber of various sizes and quality is required for the practical runs.
The short course length is approximately one and a half days depending on attendee feedback.
