What we do

The Ontario Lumber Manufacturers' Association (OLMA) is an organization of independent, non-integrated sawmills across the province. It has four main functions:

  • overseeing lumber grading licenses and quality control at member sawmills across the province
  • reviewing forestry issues to help ensure a sound, professional and renewable forest economy
  • ensuring the role of forests in the environment is well understood and protected
  • improving access to markets for Canadian softwood lumber through technical supports, promotion of trade and diversification, and removal of impediments in North America and around the world
